I walked the Camino in July / August 2018 and fully updated the guide.
This app will no longer be updated after 2019. A new app has been released which will replace it. Its called the Yellow Arrow Guide to the Camino de Santiago. Now also includes altitude profiles.A practical, no nonsense guide to walking the Camino de Santiago / Camino Francés with information about pilgrim hostels and services plus lots of background information about the history, culture and architecture of the places you will pass through.It covers the Camino from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela and onwards to the coast at Finisterre and Muxia.This guide grew out of the caminoguide.net free community-based guide to the Camino which is kept up-to-date with the help of feedback from pilgrims past and present.The guide includes:The Route: distances between places with pilgrim hostels, descriptions of difficult points along the route.Maps: route maps showing the Camino in rural areas and large-scale maps of the major cities and towns showing the location of Pilgrim Hostels and other facilities.Accommodation: up-to-date and accurate information about pilgrim hostels, the facilities provided and prices. (Please note, this guide is intended for pilgrims walking the Camino the traditional way staying in pilgrim hostels, it does not contain information about hotels and guesthouses.)Services: information about services (shops, restaurants, tourist information, internet, etc.) plus the dates of local festivals.Sights: historical and architectural information about the sights you’ll see along the Camino.History: a brief history of the towns and villages along the Camino, describing significant events, people and legends.Gastronomy: descriptions of the traditional dishes to watch out for in the different regions and recommendations on where to try them.Placenames: the meanings and origins of the names of villages and towns.November 2018. This release contains a full update of the guide information based on walking the Camino in July / August 2018, improvements to the rural maps, the addition of some maps at a larger scale for points where the detail on the rural maps was insufficient, some bugs fixes.This release is to fix an issue with the previous release. I find this an excellent and easy to use app while walking the Camino. I have made the Camino 4x. Once without any apps and 3x with this and one other. I always go to this app first.
A great tool for walking The Way that provides some great tips and general help but it is surprisingly outdated. I love that it is all offline but I would really like to see an option for users to provide updates on each town, albergue, cafe, etc. rather than just emailing the creator each time.
This is an edit. This app has now come in handy as a compliment to other apps. Happy to have it.
I really want to express my gratitude towards the developers. I walked the entire Camino Frances in spring with only this app on my phone and no other guidebook. Its part of my great camino experience. Thank you for that.

Using this right now on the Camino. Although it's a fantastic app, when used alongside other great apps, it really needs an update as there are now way more albergues not listed and the prices seem to have inflated somewhat. A lot of the info listed is already a bit dated. We've turned up to albergues and recommended restaurants to find they shut months ago.
Used the app in July 2017. Highly recommended, you definitely can't get lost If you download this app.
This was the app I used every day on my Camino. I had the Br Guide, but found this app so much more useful. History was interesting, and the description of Alburgues most helpful. Easy to use and help plan your day.
Love the new altitude profiles, what a great addition to an already excellent app.
